Comes with soft gold color, this is a high-end 15.6 inch display laptop, the ASUS VivoBook S510UA DB71. With its great performance and affordable budget, this laptop is suitable to fulfill the needs of most common users such as students, business people, travelers and else. This laptop is suitable as well for working with large data sets, playing media file, image or video editing and many more.
This ASUS S510UA DB71 is powered by 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor. This is a dual core processor with a base frequency of 2.7 GHz that goes up to 3.5 GHz under turbo mode. The cache size of this CPU rates at 4MB. This processor will easily handle even the most demanding tasks. So, no wonder if this is widely used across the board in mid-range ultrabooks.
8 GB DDR4 RAM also comes with this laptop. This amount of system memory is quite enough for most of the tasks and for running demanding applications. It would be grade if you upgrade the RAM up to 16 GB.
As storage space, this notebook features a combo of 128 GB Solid State Drive and 1 TB Hard Disk Drive. Surely, the 1TB HDD will be enough to store all your data file and media collections. However, I think the SSD is too small for modern laptop. If you upgrade the SSD size up to 512 GB, surely this will be a great notebook.
ASUS VivoBook S510UA DB71 also comes with an Intel HD Graphics 620 GPU which is integrated with the CPU, Intel Core i7-7500U. This graphics technology from Intel is almost as good as an entry-level dedicated graphics card. As such, some gaming is possible, especially if you’re into MMOs, or unpretentious simulators or online FPS games, such as LOL, DOTA, CS:GO, etc.
The screen display for this laptop is a 15.6″ Full HD LED backlit display. This is an Anti-Glare Panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. It is also a 178˚ wide-viewing angle display.
The available interface option with this laptop is plenty enough and these are the options:
• 1 x USB-3.1 Type C (Gen 1)
• 1 x USB 3.0
• 2 x USB 2.0
• 1 x HDMI-out
• 1 x Combo audio jack
• 1 x SD card reader
As for connectivity options, there are some options such as :
• Integrated 802.11 AC (2×2)
• Built-in Bluetooth V4.1
This Vivobook has a weight of 4.4 pounds and a dimension of 14.2 x 9.5 x 0.7 inches. Whether it is portable or not, well, it depends to the each user. For me, this laptop is good portable one and will easily slip into my bag.
As the power source, there is a 42 WHrs, 3S1P, 3-cell Li-ion battery pack and with the fast-charge technology, the battery will be charged up to 60 percent in just 49 minutes. Some tests show that a full charge battery will last up to 8 hours if used for video streaming and up to 5-6 hours for normal mixed used.
Overall, ASUS VivoBook S510UA DB71 is an all-rounder device. Its specification enables you to use this laptop for daily usage, playing music and video, running demanding programs. Unfortunately, this spec is not enough for programming, graphic designing and music production smoothly. For this purpose, you need to upgrade the RAM and SSD storage. This laptop is suitable for students, business people, travelers and else who needs all-rounder notebook.
